If you are planning on using this route between the Vecht and Amsterdam then it can be worth checking that the bridges are operational before committing yourself to a cruising schedule. In high winds or extreme heat the bridges are not operated and the waterway will be closed. 

In common with many of the Dutch waterways now the locks are operated remotely or by a roving bridge keeper and need to be requested by phone. The automated telephone service allows you to select English by pressing 2 on your keypad then entering the number of the bridge you require. These can be found in the ANWB almanac or on the chart.
